What does 'Kadu' mean, and why is it called Kadu Honey?

'Kadu' is a Kannada word meaning wild forest pure, untamed, and 'completely natural'. Just like the honey itself. Kadu Honey is named after the very forests it comes from a name that carries the soul of Karnataka's wilderness in every drop.

Where exactly does Kadu Honey come from?

Kadu Honey originates from a village near Madikeri, Kodagu (Coorg), Karnataka, one of India's most biodiverse, lush, and pristine forest regions. The bees here roam freely across rare wildflowers, ancient trees, and untouched forest land far from any pesticides or pollution.

Who harvests Kadu honey and how?

Kadu Honey is harvested by local community members and traditional beekeepers, people who have been doing this from generation to generation, passing down ancient knowledge of the forest and the bees. It is a skill, a tradition, and a way of life. Both local villagers and our own team work together to ensure every harvest is done with care, respect for the bees, and zero harm to the ecosystem.

What does Kadu Honey taste like?

Kadu Honey does not taste like ordinary sweet honey. Because it is collected from wild, diverse forest flowers, it carries a naturally complex flavour, sometimes rich and sweet, sometimes with a subtle sourness, depending on which flowers the bees have visited that season.

Is Kadu Honey really 100% pure and raw?

Absolutely. Kadu Honey is sourced directly from wild forest beehives near Madikeri, Karnataka, and bottled without any heating, filtering, or processing of any kind. FSSAI certified and completely free from preservatives, added sugars, artificial colours, and flavours. What you receive is exactly what nature made: nothing added, nothing removed.

How is Kadu Honey different from regular supermarket honey?

Most commercial honey sold in supermarkets is heavily heated, ultra-filtered, and often blended with sugar syrups, stripping away all the natural enzymes, pollen, antioxidants, and nutrients that make honey truly beneficial. Kadu Honey is the complete opposite: raw, wild-harvested, single-origin, and totally unprocessed. The difference is not just in taste. It is in everything.

What are the health benefits of Kadu Wild Forest Honey?

Kadu Honey is a natural powerhouse. Used daily, it can:

  • Replace refined sugar – use it in your daily tea instead of sugar
  • Improve digestion & sleep – a spoonful with warm milk at night works beautifully
  • Boost stamina & performance – natural energy without the crash
  • Support healthy blood flow – keeps circulation clean and strong
  • Keep your gut clean – natural antibacterial properties support gut health

Who can consume Kadu Honey?

Kadu Honey is suitable for almost everyone: children above 3 years, adults, the elderly, athletes, and families. We recommend it for above 3 years of age, as it is wild and pure, and young children may have unknown pollen sensitivities.

For diabetic patients, Kadu Honey contains naturally occurring sugars. While it is far better than refined sugar, we strongly recommend consulting your doctor before adding it to your daily diet.

How long does Kadu honey last, and does it expire?

Pure honey, by nature, does not expire the way most foods do. However, once the seal is opened, we recommend consuming it within one year for the best flavour and quality.

Why has my honey crystallised, and is it still good?

Crystallisation is nature's proof of purity. Only real, raw, unprocessed honey crystallises. Commercial honey that never solidifies has almost always been heated or adulterated.

Crystallisation happens when honey is exposed to air for extended periods – it is completely natural, and the honey is perfectly safe to consume.

To restore it:

  • Place the jar in warm water for 15–20 minutes
  • Or place it under direct sunlight for a while; it will naturally return to its liquid golden form

Never microwave it; heat destroys the natural enzymes and nutrients that make Kadu Honey special.
